Robotic Studio Camera Operator


Volunteer will be trained and placed to work on various studio productions to operate 4 robotic cameras. Working under a director, the operator will provide the shots and camera movements as required. The operator will be requested to attend pre-production meetings and assist with set tear down. Some assistance with set-placement or moving of various components may be requested of them. Dress is casual.

Mobile Camera

Volunteer will be trained and placed to work on various mobile productions as a camera operator. Working under a producer/director, the operator will provide the shots and camera movements as required. The operator will be requested to attend pre-production meetings, assist with all aspects of setup before hand and with equipment tear down after a production. The job requires some lifting of components, running cables and assembly of cameras. Dress as situation requires.

Studio Audio

Volunteer will be trained and placed to work on various studio productions as an audio operator. Working under a director, the operator will provide be responsible for all aspects of audio recording, including microphones and re-recording audio playback. The operator will be requested to attend pre-production meetings and assist with set up and tear down. Some assistance with other studio duties may be required. Dress is casual.

Floor Director

Volunteer will be trained and placed to work on various studio productions as Floor Director (FD). Working under a director, the FD will be responsible for all aspects of talent management and cueing, including greeting, script changes, microphone placement and the communication with talent from the floor. The FD will be requested to attend pre-production meetings and assist with set up and tear down as required. Dress is casual, comfortable, quiet shoes a must.

Community Producer

Volunteer will be trained and guided as production requires. A written proposal of their show idea is submitted to the production manager, requesting a production, describing components of it and explaining why it is good for Access 7. Once accepted, a staff producer is assigned and the volunteer (now a community producer) follows through, from design to final promotion of the product.

On-Air Host

Volunteer will be trained and mentored for our community series “Talk of the Town” or some other specific project. Working under a producer, the “host” learns how to interview guests, present to camera, write own bridges and work with either a studio or independent camera team.

Graphics (Studio and Mobile)

Volunteer will be trained and placed to work on various studio and mobile productions as graphics operator. Working under a director, the operator will be responsible for building and preparing graphic pages for a production, then inserting pages at the request of the director. The operator will be requested to attend pre-production meetings, may be asked to come early to build pages and to assist with set up and tear down. Some assistance with other studio duties may be required. Dress is casual.

VTR Playback Operator (Mobile)

Volunteer will be trained and placed to work on various studio and mobile productions as VTR (Video Tape Recorder) Playback operator. Working under a director, the operator will be responsible for isolating a particular camera, recording clips, then cuing and playing back these clips as called upon. An understanding of several sports is helpful but not necessary. The operator will be requested to attend pre-production meetings, and to assist with set up and tear down. Some assistance with other mobile duties may be required. Dress is casual.
