New chair and directors elected to board of Access Communications Co-operative
The Board of Directors for Access Communications Co-operative is pleased to announce that Ken Shaw has been elected Chair of the Board for 2016.
“It is an absolute privilege to have the opportunity to steward one of Saskatchewan’s more successful co-operatives,” said Shaw, who has served on the Co-operative’s board since 2012. “Access Communications has come to represent the very best of the communities it serves, and this board – with a strong mix of men and women from across the province – will undoubtedly help to keep that tradition alive.”
Mr. Shaw the former Executive Vice President for Conexus Credit Union and most recently, served as Vice Chair of the Access Communications board of directors in 2015. He is the Treasurer of the Wawa Shrine Club and is a director of the Ignite Adult Learning Foundation Board.
Newly elected to the Access Communications board are David Dekker and Hiedi Pearson.
David Dekker is the former part-owner and General Manager of radio stations in the Battlefords and Meadow Lake. David has over forty years’ experience in the broadcasting industry and has served as President for the Saskatchewan Association of Broadcasters and Western Association of Broadcasters. David has been involved with Access Communications for many years as well as with the former Battlefords Community Cablevision Co-operative.
Hiedi Pearson is the Human Resources Manager & member of the Senior Management Team for Harvard Developments Inc. She has been very active in the community on the board of the Regina Palliative Care Inc. & Greystone Bereavement Centre; served as Co-Chair of the 2013 Grey Cup Festival Committee and is a former director with the University of Regina Alumni Association.
“We are excited to welcome David and Hiedi to the Access Communications Board of Directors,” said Shaw. “They both bring a wealth of experience and are proven leaders with a strong community focus. Our board looks forward to working alongside them to continue Access’s path of growth and to further establish our Co-operative’s role as a good neighbour in its member communities.”
