Access Communications Hosts Luncheon to Raise Money for the Salvation Army
Wednesday, December 14, 2016
Regina, SK – Access Communications played host to a packed crowd on Wednesday, December 14 with community members coming out to support the 24th Annual Christmas Dinner for the Salvation Army. The lunch, which is prepared by Access staff, features homemade cabbage rolls, turkey, gravy and all of the fixings. Thanks to all of the businesses and community members that joined in for the feast. About $5000 was raised to support the Salvation Army.
“It was great to see so many friends, neighbours and community partners come out in the middle of the busy holiday season,” said Jim Deane, President and CEO of Access Communications. “Not only is it a great opportunity to catch up with old friends, but it all goes to support a really worthwhile cause that benefits so many families in our community.”
Major Bruce MacKenzie, who was at the luncheon to accept the donations on behalf of the Salvation Army, agrees.
“Once again this year, we are simply overwhelmed by the generosity of our community and the partnerships we have with people who believe in the mission of the Salvation Army,” said Bruce MacKenzie. “This year’s Access Communications luncheon was truly a great accomplishment, and we are so very grateful for the support we received.”
What started as a small event by a group of dedicated employees 24 years ago, the annual luncheon has grown into a several hundred person event. Since its inception, over $100,000 has been raised to support local families through the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army hopes to assist 1500 families this holiday season.
