Access Communications Celebrates Volunteer Week
Wednesday, April 13, 2016
National Volunteer Week (April 10th to 16th) is a time to recognize, celebrate and thank Canada’s 13.3 million volunteers.
As a co-operative, Access Communications has a special connection with our hundreds of volunteers; whether they’re employees or simply people who want to lend a helping hand. Volunteers have the desire to give back to their communities, a value we share.
Over 270 volunteers give their time and expertise to help produce thousands of hours of first-run, local programing on Access7 community channels. Without our Access7 and community volunteers, activities like Show ‘N Shine and Pumpkin Patrol simply couldn’t exist, and for that, we thank them.
"National Volunteer week gives us the chance to honour our volunteers at our receptions held provincially,” says Jim Deane, CEO, Access Communications. “But we should be saying thank you each and every day for the contributions volunteers make to our country, our province, and the communities where we live."
