Access Communications Scholarship Program

We feel strongly about giving back to local youth who volunteer their time in order to improve their communities. As a 100% Saskatchewan-owned, not-for-profit co-operative, social responsibility is at the forefront of everything we do.

Since 2005, Access Communications has put more than $295,000 into the hands of high school graduates across our province. We are so proud that our support and involvement has helped these students pursue their dreams.

"One of the great ironies of life is this: He who serves almost always benefits more than he who is served. I could write out a laundry list of the contributions I made to this community, but the lessons volunteering has taught me far exceed the work I put in."

    Hussain Awan
    Regina - Campbell Collegiate

"In a small town like Manor, without volunteers we wouldn't have the things we have here; volunteers help this community run. In my eyes, to give more than I take is a true asset, because it will allow me to help better my school, my community, and the world."

    Presley Onufreychuk
    Manor High School

"Over the years, volunteering has become second nature for me and I always try to help out in any way I can. My involvement in various clubs and organizations have given me many great opportunities that help me further my passions and interests."

    Naomi Wall
    North Battleford Comprehensive High School

"Although it is not hard to come across volunteering opportunities in Tisdale, in order to do such duties properly and create an 100% effective outcome, volunteering takes determination and dedication. That is why I personally enjoy and choose to volunteer because it brings a larger purpose out of myself, and enhances qualities that can encourage others to push to do more for the people around them."

    Nicole Becker
    Tisdale Middle & Secondary School

"I volunteer to provide individuals who are less fortunate with the necessary staples for day-to-day survival. I have the desire and commitment to improve the quality of life in communities and reach out to people with the greatest needs. Volunteering has made me aware of the importance of giving back to the community. It has helped to shape the individual I have become and will guide me to the educational career I have chosen."

    Kaitlyn Arvidson
    Grenall High School

"I volunteer because I am passionate about helping others and strongly believe small actions can make a large, positive change in the world. It offers me the chance to give back to my community, all while gaining new skills and acquiring new knowledge. I believe volunteering has helped me grow to be the best version of myself, and had taught me to look at the big picture."

    Anya Illingworth
North Battleford - John Paul II Collegiate

"Ultimately, I volunteer within my school and community because I genuinely just want to help people. There is no ulterior motive for why I spend so much of my time giving back to others; I have always wanted to help people for the sake of making other's lives a little better than they were before."

    Kheva Tulp
    Outlook High School

"Volunteering is a great way to build connections with new people and gain an understanding into the needs and desires of the community and world around you. To me, living life to the fullest means to try new things, be involved in your community, and help others to have a better quality of living."

    Shayla Olafson
    Kindersley Composite School

"I feel that the diverse community and background that I have come from has prepared me to become a teacher who is able to adapt, flourish and teach all students. Volunteering has made my decisions to become a teacher very easy, and made it clear that I have a passion for helping people and I cannot wait to start my career."

    Shaunesy Diemert
    Kindersley Composite School

"School and community involvement is a very big part of my life. Growing up in a small community, as well as a small school, I found a strong passion in being part of the lives of the people around me. Without the contribution of volunteers in a small town, it would not be able to function. And, this is why I believe strongly in the importance of contributing to my community."

    Codee Scott
    Eastend High School

"I love to volunteer! I do not see it as a chore or a hassle but as something that helps others and is really fun to do. I am a Christian and am taught to serve others, and put others before myself. Volunteering is just one of the ways that I can duplicate God's love for us to others."

    Jenna Giddings
    Humboldt Collegiate Institute

"Everyone deserves the best quality of life possible. Despite their financial income, or physical ability. I take any opportunity available that allows me to help strengthen my community or help reduce our poverty levels. Spending time within the community is very humbling. It gives me a different understanding and outlook on life. Working in the community has also helping me to become a more passionate, responsible, and grateful person."

    Brittany Andreas
    Wadena Composite School

"I am always able to find ways to be involved in activities that benefit the community. I take on many leadership roles, and I always take initiative when something needs to be done. Volunteering is a large part of my life. I love to volunteer, meet new people, and to make a difference in the lives of others."

    Jessica Goebel

    Elenna LaPlante

I motivate and encourage them to put forth their best effort. The athletes, in return, give me so much more!"

    Mackenzie Moore
    Regina - Winston Knoll Collegiate

"Throughout my life I have made many memories, created lasting impacts on the world and have enriched the lives of others in my community.
