    Yes, you can use it as much as you like! You never have to worry about extra costs and we won’t slow you down after a certain amount of data usage.  

  • Is Wi-Fi included with Access Rural Internet?

    Wi-Fi is included if you purchase a router from us or, if you have your own wireless router, you can use it to meet your Wi-Fi needs.

  • Does weather affect service?

    Storms which cause extended power outages may cause interruptions to the service. Otherwise, weather generally will not affect the Rural Internet service.

  • What type of support is available for Access Rural Internet service?

    Our technical support team is available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., 7 days a week.

  • If I move, can I take Access Rural Internet with me?

    Yes, if the new location falls within our coverage area and there is usable signal at that location.

  • How is Access Rural Internet different from Access Internet?

    Access Rural Internet is a fixed-wireless Internet service. This means we mount a fixed-wireless radio outside of your home or cabin and it communicates with one of our fixed access points, usually located on a nearby tower. This method of delivery allows us to serve homes, cabins and businesses in rural areas outside of the Access Internet broadband service area.

  • Does Access Rural Internet support VPN (virtual private network) connections?

    Yes, you can use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection as long as it does not violate our terms of service and policies. Static IP may be required and additional costs may incur. 

     

    Access Rural Internet does not provide technical support for VPN connections, please contact your VPN provider for set up assistance.

  • Can I stream Netflix and YouTube?

    Yes, our Access Rural Internet 5 package with download speeds of up to 5 Mbps is recommended for streaming Netflix and you can watch as much as you want with no data caps.

  • Can I game on Access Rural Internet?

    Yes, our low latency connection with no data caps is perfect for extended gaming sessions!

  • Can I use my own router?

    Yes, all you need to do is connect a cable from the power supply to the Internet port on the router.

  • Is there a contract?

    No, there is no contract and Access Rural Internet includes a 30-day money back guarantee.

    If you are dissatisfied with your Access Rural Internet service for any reason, you will receive a refund if you cancel your subscription within 30 days of activation. Access Rural Internet will refund the cost of the installation (where applicable) and any funds paid for the first 30 days of Internet service. 

  • Is seasonal service available?

    Yes, seasonal disconnects are available for up to 9 months of the year.

  • What to expect during installation?

    Our technician will complete a site survey to ensure there is good signal at your location. If the site survey results are good, then he will proceed with the install which comprises of the following:

    1. A fixed wireless radio mounted outside with good line of sight to one of our towers or access points.
    2. An outdoor rated Cat5e cable running from the fixed wireless radio to a power supply located inside your home, cabin or business. The power supply then has one cable that connects to an outlet for power and one cable that connects to your router.
