Access Communications Celebrates 2026 Scholarship Recipients

Regina, SK — Access Communications Co-operative has announced its 2026 scholarship recipients, awarding a total of $27,000 to students across Saskatchewan. At a time when communities across the province are focused on supporting youth and building a strong future workforce, these scholarships are an investment in Saskatchewan’s next generation. Access has supported local students through its scholarship programs for decades, and this year's recipients reflect the talent and potential found in communities of every size throughout the province.

"Saskatchewan's future is being shaped by young people like this year's recipients," said Carmela Haines, President & CEO of Access. "As a community-owned co-operative, we are proud to invest in the people and places we serve. It's a privilege to support these students as they take their next steps."

Twenty students received $1,000 each through the Doug Alexander Scholarship Program, which recognizes academic achievement and commitment to community service. The program honours the memory of Doug Alexander, Access's former Community Relations Manager and a tireless advocate for youth development in Saskatchewan.

“Thank you, Access Communications so much. This scholarship really means a lot. It's very wonderful to just be aware that someone is there to recognize you for the efforts you put in your community, I'm so grateful for this,” said Tanishka Sehdev, Miller High School, Regina.

Access also awards scholarships through the Fred Wagman Scholarship Program, named after Access's founding CEO, including a $2,000 Film & Video Scholarship and two $1,000 Entrance Scholarships for students at the University of Regina pursuing film, media, and communications. Two additional $1,500 scholarships support students enrolled in Computer Networking Technician and Telecommunications Network Technician programs at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, helping build the next generation of technology and telecom professionals in the province.
