The Children's Fund will be supporting our Beyond the Bell program specifically through the developed of Mobile Resource Kits. The mobile resource kits will enhance the YMCA's Beyond the Bell program by giving mentors immediate access to the tools needed to provide enhanced support for at risk and vulnerable children and youth during their weekly mentorship group. Each kit will contain a combination of emotional regulation tools, literacy materials, Indigenous and land based learning resources, hands on activities, and resources that strengthen social skills, support healthy friendships and emotional regulation. These materials allow mentors to respond immediately to student needs, reduce transition time, and deliver effective programming during short weekly sessions
Beyond the Bell has seen a 98% increase in mentorship referrals in Regina, reflecting a growing need for support among children and youth. This growth means more children and youth are being connected to caring mentors who can help them build confidence, strengthen relationships, and navigate emotions. As the program is funded entirely through grants and fundraising, support from Access Communications is a significant win, impacting our ability to reach more children and youth with consistent, meaningful support when they need it most. Beyond the Bell currently operates in 13 schools with 2 staff with the need increasing every year.

Creative Kids Program Fund
Provincial
$15,000
The Children’s Fund supports the Creative Kids Dream Brokers program, an exciting and vital initiative that offers meaningful creative opportunities to Saskatchewan children from low-income families. Our goal is for more vulnerable kids across the province to participate in artistic and cultural activities at school or in their community, outside of regular school hours. Early introduction to the arts can change a kid’s life and put them on a path to success: participation in creative and cultural activities improves self-esteem, self-confidence, mental health and wellbeing, and it fosters the development of healthy relationships and a healthy lifestyle. This is an opportunity for growth that these children would not otherwise be able to access.
Receiving this funding support from ACCESS helps make it possible for the kids that need it most to continue to access this life-changing program. The impact will be felt by the kids, their families and communities for years to come!
