How do I access my Alarm.com portal?

To log in to the Alarm.com portal, go to https://www.alarm.com/login.aspx and enter your username and password. 
If you do not remember your username or password, please visit https://www.alarm.com/getlogininfo.aspx

How/why would I call the monitoring company instead of Access Communications?

You should call the monitoring company if you want to report an instance where the alarm may be triggered or if you need to cancel the alarm. The alarm monitoring companies we partner with simply monitor and dispatch specific authorities in the event of an alarm. We act as the intermediary for all other account-related updates or technical service inquiries. If you have AAA as your monitoring station, the phone number is 1-877-565-9644. If you have Armstrong, the phone number is 1-800-561-5433. 

How do I install/set up my Alarm.com app?

The Alarm.com app for phones and tablets is available for free download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. You can also control and monitor your system using your Apple Watch, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Echo, and Google Home. Once you open the app, enter your username and password to login. If you do not remember your username or password, please visit www.alarm.com/getlogininfo.aspx. 


 
  1. Navigate the Dashboard 
    • View and control your system from the palm of your hand with the easy-to-navigate Dashboard. Arm and disarm your panel, adjust lights, locks, thermostats, and garage doors. 
       
  2.  Enable Notifications 
    • Click on Notifications to enable Push Notifications. You can also add or manage your push, text, and email notifications on-the-go. A "System Not Armed" notification will remind you if you forget to arm your system when you’re away from home. 
       
  3. Activate Geo-Services 
    • Enable automatic rules and alerts based on your phone’s location through Geo-Services. Be alerted if you’ve left home without arming your system, pause video recordings for privacy, and have your thermostat adjusted when you’re approaching home. 
    • Geo-Services > Toggle to ON > Draw Geo-Fence on your Online Account 
    • TIP: Add an extra layer of security to protect access to your system with two-factor authentication. Whenever you sign in to your system from a new or untrusted device, you’ll have to enter both your password and a code sent to your mobile phone. 
    • Online > Settings > Login Information > Two-Factor Authentication

How do I set up Video Monitoring via the Alarm.com app?

You can set video recording schedules to trigger the camera to record when it detects motion or based on event triggers such as sensor activity.

Go to Video > Settings (Gear Symbol) > Recording Rules > Add  > Video Analytics > Select Camera > Follow on-screen instructions.

How do I enable/disable my alarm via the Alarm.com app?

  1. In the Home Screen, navigate to the ‘Security System’ header section 
  2. Click on the ‘System’ icon to change its state (Disarmed to Armed and vice versa)
