Access Communications Celebrates the Value of Volunteering Provincial Wide

Regina, SK – National Volunteer Week (NVW), April 15th to 21st, is time to celebrate the 13 million Canadian volunteers and recognize the selfless work they do to help those around them in our communities.

As a co-operative, Access Communications has a special connection with our volunteers. We are humbled by their enthusiasm and their commitment to the people of Saskatchewan, and we consider it an honour to work with them to give back to the communities we all hold so dear. In an effort to celebrate our volunteers and let them know how much they mean to us, Access hosts appreciation events in our major centres across the province during National Volunteer Week.

We are proud to contribute and make a difference to communities through our Access7 community channels and our registered charity – the Access Communications Children’s Fund – and through corporate initiatives including the Labour Day Show N Shine, Pumpkin Patrol and the Access Communications Scholarship Programs. Being focused on our communities and the families within are at the heart of what Access Communications is all about.

"One of the most important things about Access Communications is that we’re a co-operative. We aren’t just serving Saskatchewan — we’re a part of it in a way that many other companies just can’t be,” says Jim Deane, CEO, Access Communications. “National Volunteer Week gives us the chance to honour our over 450 volunteers for their time, energy and talent to improve the well-being of others and make our province an even better place to live."

About Access Communications Co-operative
Access Communications Co-operative is one of Saskatchewan’s largest telecommunications companies, but we do so much more than provide reliable, affordable Internet, television, telephone and security services. What makes Access unique is our involvement in the communities we serve, especially through our Access7 community channels.

Access Communications began serving customers in 1978. Over the past 40 years, we have grown into a province-wide co-operative serving over 235 communities and 160,000 sq. km of rural areas in Saskatchewan. As a not-for-profit co-operative, we invest 100% of our earnings right back into the communities and rural areas where we live and do business.
