Access Communications Co-operative Announces Fiscal 2018 Results

Regina, SK – The Annual General Meeting of Access Communications Co-operative was held January 22, 2019 simultaneously in Access studios across the province. Members of the Co-operative as well as members of the public were invited to attend.

Access Communications announced it continued to expand last year and now serves over 235 communities and 160,000 sq. km of rural areas in Saskatchewan. In 2018, the Co-operative invested over $22.4 million into its state-of-the-art Hybrid Fibre Coax (HFC) network and services in our communities as part of a five-year $120 million investment plan. Throughout continued growth, Access Communications remains a strong local Saskatchewan co-operative, staying true to its founding principles.

“It was my privilege to chair a very dedicated and effective board this past year. And what a year it was! Not only did Access achieve good financial results and continue to grow in a very competitive industry and challenging provincial economy, we also celebrated 40 years of service to the people of Saskatchewan,” reported Dick DeRyk, 2018 Chair of the Access Communications Board of Directors. “In my five years on the board, I’ve been constantly amazed and sometimes dazzled by how quickly this industry changes. Yet what matters most at Access remains constant: Community is the heart of all we do.”

The Board of Directors of Access Communications Co-operative is pleased to announce that Brenda Watson has been elected Chair of the Board for 2019. Brenda Watson is a Chartered Accountant and  a partner at Baker Watson Chartered Accountants based in Regina.
