Access Communications Helps Keep the Streets Safe and Fun on Halloween

Regina, SK – A Saskatchewan tradition for 23 years, the Access Communications Pumpkin Patrol cruises though communities across the province to help keep the streets safe for trick-or-treaters this Halloween.

Access volunteers and community partners will be patrolling the streets from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31 in 12 Saskatchewan communities including: Regina, Weyburn, Estevan, Battleford, North Battleford, Yorkton, Humboldt, Melfort, Warman, Martensville, Air Ronge and La Ronge.

Each Access Pumpkin Patrol vehicle is equipped with signage, a flashing orange light, and most importantly are equipped with a direct link to local law enforcement, if the need arises.

“Pumpkin Patrol is just one of the ways Access Communications is involved in the communities we serve. Our employee-volunteers have a great time out there while they are providing a valuable public service,” said Tracey Mucha, Community Programming Manager, Access Communications Co-operative. “The more people know about the program before Halloween, the greater the deterrent effect of the vehicles patrolling the streets.”

Access Communications works with community partners, including Estevan, Weyburn, and Regina Police Services, Regina Citizens on Patrol, WPD Ambulance Services (where), La Ronge EMS, Yorkton, Martensville, and Warman RCMP as well as volunteers from Harvard Broadcasting.
