Access Communications Pumpkin Patrol Returns for its 29th Year

Regina, SK - Halloween night is all about fun and imagination, and Access Communications Co-operative (Access) is helping keep the magic alive and the monsters at bay. This year marks the 29th anniversary of Pumpkin Patrol. Staff and volunteers are once again hitting the streets in nine Saskatchewan communities to help keep little ghosts and goblins safe while they collect their candy. It’s one more way Access turns connection into community impact—showing we’re more than a service provider; we’re part of the neighbourhood.

“Pumpkin Patrol is a simple, powerful example of how a community-owned co-op shows up. Our teams will be out in clearly marked Access vehicles to reassure families, watch out for safety issues, and, if needed, quickly connect with law enforcement. Thank you to our volunteers for helping to keep Halloween safe and joyful for all,” said Carmela Haines, President and CEO of Access.

What to expect:

  • Access vehicles will feature a flashing orange light, glow-in-the-dark signage, and a direct link to local law enforcement.
  • Volunteers will patrol neighbourhoods from 5 - 8:30 p.m. on Friday, October 31, in: North Battleford (The Battlefords), Estevan, Martensville, Melville, La Ronge (Air Ronge), Regina, Warman, Weyburn, and Yorkton.
  • If anyone needs help, they can flag down an Access vehicle; staff and volunteers will contact local police services to get the child the help they need.

Access Communications Pumpkin Patrol is sponsored by Harvard Media and delivered with the support of local police and RCMP services, WPD Ambulance Services in North Battleford, and La Ronge EMS.
