Access Communications to collect missed Regina Food Drive donations

Regina, SK – Access Communications is pleased to partner with the Regina Food Bank for the annual Regina Food Drive once again.

“As a community-owned co-operative, we are proud to support local families by fighting hunger,” says Tracey Mucha, Community Programming Manager, Access Communications Co-operative. "About 9,000 people use the Regina Food Bank each month, and they are beginning to see an increase in demand.”

Access volunteers will be out on the streets between 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 19th collecting any food donations that were missed during the city-wide morning collection. Households in Regina can call Access Communications at (306) 205-FOOD and a friendly volunteer will be dispatched to collect the donation.

The Regina Food Drive is the largest campaign of the year for the Regina Food Bank. This year’s goal is 375 tonnes. “We are so grateful for the support of Access Communications” said John Bailey, CEO, Regina Food Bank. “The food drive is truly a community event and with the support of the team at Access we are able to make sure everyone who wants to support the food drive is able.”

To participate in the Food Drive, Regina residents are encouraged to leave non-perishable food donations on their doorsteps on Saturday, October 19th. Alternatively, residents can also visit their local Sherwood Co-op, Regina Safeway, Superstore, Extra Foods or Sobeys stores to purchase a pre-made hamper and drop them in the provided collection bins. Donations may also be made through the Virtual Food Drive available on the Food Bank’s website: https://reginafoodbank.ca.

Access Communications supports the Regina Food Bank with the annual Labour Day Show N Shine fundraising event which has raised raising over $20,000 each year over the past 13 years.
