AccessNow TV Community Channel is set to broadcast the 80th Rotary Carol Festival

Regina, SK – A holiday season tradition returns! Access Communications Co-operative will once again broadcast the annual Rotary Christmas Carol Festival, hosted live by the Rotary Clubs of Regina. The Festival will air from November 30 to December 3rd at 7:00 p.m. each evening, showcasing the talents of Jeffery Straker, Rory Allen, and the duo of Winsome Kind, as well as many nostalgic performances from the Festival’s 80-year history.

Since 1941, the Rotary Carol Festival has brought cheer to the city of Regina at the beginning of the Christmas season. The Festival was initially founded to bring joy and entertainment to citizens, to promote the advancement of choral groups and to raise funds to help those less fortunate. The Festival has been held at Knox Metropolitan United Church every year and will, for the first time, require virtual attendance due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Festival provides an opportunity for people of all ages to perform and for audiences to be entertained. The Festival is also an important fundraiser allowing the Rotary Clubs of Regina to support families in need,” said Ian Toms, Co-Chair of the Rotary Carol Festival. “We are grateful to Access Communications for supporting us in presenting a virtual festival in this, our 80th year.”

“The Festival has become one of Regina’s definition traditions for the Yuletide season. Although we are all experiencing challenges this year, AccessNow TV is proud to keep the tradition going,” said Tracey Mucha, Community Programming Manager at Access Communications.

Each year the goal is to raise $15,000 for partner charities. This year, all proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army in Regina and the Rotary Community Fund to help families in need during the holidays. The public can donate now by visiting www.events.reginarotary.org/rotary-carol-festival-2020 or by calling the donation line during the event.

Viewers can tune in to watch the event on AccessNow TV or online at www.myaccess.ca/accessnow/live/regina-rotary-carol-festival.
