Access Communications announces Fiscal 2022 results, new board members

Regina, SK – Access Communications Co-operative announced the results of the Fiscal 2022 year to individual and organizational members, delegates, and members of the public at its Annual General Meeting held January 17, 2023.

Access Communications announced strong financial performance for the year. As a not-for-profit, community-owned co-operative, Access reinvests 100% of its earnings into the communities and rural areas it serves. The co-operative invested $22.1 million in capital spending and nearly $2.3 million in its community programming channel, AccessNow TV, which airs in 100 communities across the province.

“Our co-operative is privileged to serve the communities and rural areas where we do business,” said James Lainton, 2022 Chair of the Board of Directors for Access Communications. “Access sets out to improve the quality of life for the people in our province. I want to thank my colleagues on the board for their time and dedication this past year. The strategic direction we’ve established will expand services and support underserved communities and rural Saskatchewan for years to come.”

The Board of Directors of Access Communications Co-operative also announced that Karen Smith has been elected Chair of the Board for 2023. Karen is the CEO of the Better Business Bureau of Saskatchewan, a director for the Regina Community Clinic and a Member of the Leaders Council for Hill & Levene Schools of Business.

Four directors were elected to the Access Communications Board of Directors for 2023.

  • Lorna Knudson was re-elected and appointed Vice Chair of the Board. Lorna lives in Regina and is retired, formerly Executive Director of the Regina Community Clinic.
  • Juanita Pelogi was re-elected to the board and is the Executive Director of the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce. Juanita lives in Jedburgh.
  • Collin Pullar is a newly-elected director and President of the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association. Collin lives in Regina.
  • Thomas Sierzycki is a newly-elected director and the Northern Education Advisor for the Ministry of Education. Thomas resides in La Ronge.
