Find or change your Wi-Fi network name and password
Your default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password (passphrase or key) will be listed on a sticker on the back of your modem. If you would like to change your default network name or password, or if you have changed your password and cannot remember it, please follow the instructions below.
Before you start, ensure that your device is connected to the modem via Wi-Fi or directly via an Ethernet cable.
- Log in to My Account and click on Wireless Settings.
- Your default username and password to access your Wi-Fi settings will be listed on the Wireless Settings page. We strongly encourage you to change the password the first time you log in.
- Enter your username and password.
- Select Wireless.
- Select either 2.4G or 5G for the Wi-Fi network you would like to adjust.
- Your network name will be listed beside the Network Name (SSID) field. Adjust as desired.
- Your password will be listed beside the Passphrase field. Adjust as desired. Your new password must be at least 8 characters long.
- Select Save Changes to finish and allow a few minutes for your modem to restart.
- Once your Wi-Fi network name and/or password are changed, you will need to reconnect all your devices to the network using the new password.
If you subscribe to Smart Wi-Fi, you can find or change your Wi-Fi password using the MyHitron app.
- To find your password, simply tap Show Wi-Fi password on the Overview screen of the app. If you have more than 1 Wi-Fi network, tap the My Wi-Fi tile to view information for each network.
- To change your password, tap the My Wi-Fi tile, tap the network you want to change, tap the Wi-Fi password field and enter your new password. Tap Save when prompted.
- Once your Wi-Fi network name and/or password are changed, you will need to reconnect all your devices to the network using the new password.
